Diego Maradona is planning a return to Italy.

The Napoli legend is currently barred from setting foot on Italian soil, as he still owes €38m in unpaid taxes.

"It is right to pay taxes, but I feel the authorities should have a human face when dealing with people, not just those who are rich, but above all those who are poor," Maradona told Sky TG24.

"In terms of peace and social development of a country, it is only right that the authorities try not to create fear or even terror. Paying taxes is the right thing to do and I never stepped back from that.

"I have been prevented from coming back to Italy until now and I hope justice will be done. My desire is to return to Italy, embrace all the Neapolitans and my friends who live in Italy. I have missed 20 years."
