Napoli goalkeeper Meret insists top four hopes alive

Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret says a top four finish can still be clinched.

Meret was speaking after their impressive 1-1 draw with Inter Milan on Sunday.

He said, "We played a good game, despite going behind at the end of the first half and we could have thrown ourselves down, instead we continued to play our game, I think that in the second half we did even better and in general I think that the draw was fair, it was a good match for the compactness and spirit against a very strong team.

"We know that to reach the goal we have to start winning and make a series of victories because the distance is quite important but we have direct battles to play and we can do it (finish in the top four)."

Meret added: "We have conceded several similar goals, now the way of defending in the area has changed with the new coach: there is more to take the position and not the man and if a teammate is not in good shape we will have to take shots inside the area, then when it goes under the legs it's also bad luck because maybe the man is there. We have to prevent the attacker from hitting the ball. There are certainly some details to be perfected, we are working to fix these situations."
