New Napoli coach Rafa Benitez is chasing Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen.

The Mirror says Belgian defender Vermaelen lost his place at the end of last season and the Gunners could be willing to listen to offers.

Benitez wants to strengthen his defence and is aware of Vermaelen's potential availability and believes they should look at him.

Liverpool's Martin Skrtel is also on Napoli's hit-list, but Benitez believes they should look at Vermaelen.
