Napoli captain Insigne hails Opsina after reaching Coppa Italia final

Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne hailed goalkeeper David Ospina after reaching the Coppa Italia final.

Napoli had beaten Inter Milan in the first leg 1-0 at San Siro back in February, a lead cancelled out within three minutes by Christian Eriksen curling in directly from the corner flag.

Dries Mertens made history by netting his 122nd goal in the Napoli jersey, becoming their all-time top scorer ahead of Marek Hamsik.

They will face Juventus in the Final on Wednesday June 17.

“Inter did well, but we played our part and held out as a team. We wanted the Final at all costs and we achieved that. Now we need to recuperate and be ready for the Final in a few days," Insigne told RAI Sport.

Ospina's long pass proved decisive, as Insigne then rolled it across with a no-look ball for Mertens to score.

“Ospina has always had great feet, we tried this move a few times in training. He saw my run, created a great counter-attack and we brought home the result.

“It is strange to play in an empty stadium, but we have to do our duty. We thank all the nurses and doctors who worked so hard during this period, we dedicate the game to those who suffered so much and we hope this brought a little joy into their homes."
