Hidetoshi Nakata has had a pop at Roma pair Eusebio di Francesco and Francesco Totti.
Roma have hit a sudden form slump after defeats to AC Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
“It's not easy for a team like Roma to win," the Japanese told RMC Sport.
“I hope they can do better in the future. Di Francesco? I know him, he's a person who maybe thinks a little too much.
“He has to do things by using only his heart. Roma are a great team, but managing them isn't easy.
“Juventus and Napoli are two very good teams right now, and fighting with them isn't easy, but I hope Roma will bounce back soon.
“Lazio in front of them? Roma's objective isn't just to finish ahead of Lazio. Theirs is different.
“Totti as a director? I don't know what he can do in that role."
