Nadal delighted joining Laudrup at Real Mallorca

Real Mallorca have confirmed Miguel Angel Nadal will be Michael Laudrup's new No2.

Nadal began his career at Mallorca before an eight-year spell at Barcelona which brought a host of trophies, including five Primera Division titles and the club's first Champions League success.

The no-nonsense defender then returned to end his career at Mallorca, winning the Copa del Rey before eventually retiring in 2005.

"I am excited to return to Mallorca and, as always, I look at this with responsibility, with a will to teach and to learn," the former defender told the club's official website today.

"I feel lucky (to work with Laudrup). He's an ex team-mate and a nice person, with an attractive playing philosophy - and we all hope we can enjoy a good season."

Meanwhile, Mallorca defender Ivan Ramis is excited to link up with Nadal.

"I am proud to have Nadal on the bench because I always admired him as a player and it's a luxury to have him as a coach alongside Laudrup," he said.
