West Bromwich Albion have named Youssuf Mulumbu as their Player of the Year for the 2010/11 season.
The 24-year old Congolese midfielder was a brilliantly consistent performer in his third season at The Hawthorns since joining from French club Paris Saint-Germain in January 2009.
He played mainly as a defensive midfielder alongside Paul Scharner but managed to get forward and score seven goals as the Baggies pushed into the middle of the Premier League table after gaining promotion last season.
Mulumbu admitted that it was a difficult season in the top flight but said that the club reached their target of staying up.
"It will be a hard season, maybe even harder than this season," he said.
"But this season was hard and the target was achieved."
