Muamba banking on extended Bolton chance

Fabrice Muamba hopes for an extended run in the Bolton Wanderers first team after an injury suffered by January signing Mark Davies.

The England U21 midfielder said: "Obviously it has been a long time since I started a game but I was determined to make my mark and stake a claim for my place by playing as well as I could. I think I have done my bit so hopefully I won't be dropped for the next game.

"It's not about Mark or anybody else, it's about me and playing my own game. It was unfortunate that Mark got an injury against Fulham but these things happen in football - all I can do is grab my opportunity and I think I did that."
