Everton manager David Moyes is hoping his sides visit to Australia for a pre-season tour gives them some luck for the start of the upcoming English Premier League season.
In the past couple of years, the Toffees have travelled to the USA in the lead-up to their EPL campaign and it has not always started well, with a 6-0 loss to Arsenal last season kicking off their title pursuit.
But Moyes believes a change of scenery may work well for the Merseysiders who are in town to take on Sydney FC, Melbourne Heart and Brisbane Roar in the past week and a half.
"We've tended to choose America in recent years but we've not started the season too well in the last couple of years, so I'm hoping Australia brings us a bit of luck," Moyes said.
Everton take on Blackburn Rovers, the home of Australians Vince Grella and Brett Emerton, in their opening league match at Ewood Park on August 14.
