Real Sociedad boss David Moyes has admitted interest in Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi.

Illarramendi has been linked with a return to San Sebastian.

"It's good news because we need quality players to improve the standard. We don't want to be waiting another 10 years to be able to compete with the top six or seven sides in La Liga," said Moyes.

"To that, we need quality players and [Illarra] is certainly a good player."
