Everton boss David Moyes hopes the fans who protest today will spark a reaction from those inside Goodison Park.
Everton face Aston Villa later today.
Moyes said: "I think that people would like to see some more finances, so would I, so would the chairman. But it's not for the lack of trying; it's not for trying to get more.
"If people do that (protest), maybe tomorrow it will make the supporters even more vocal to support us and we do need that because I think we were a bit quiet at the QPR game probably with the expectations and with people a bit low.
"Hopefully everybody will get behind us now."
