David Moyes has confirmed plans Manchester United do not intend to offer Wayne Rooney new terms anytime soon.

Moyes said United will not offer Rooney, who has two years left on a £250,000-a-week deal, a new contract and will assess the situation next summer.

"Maybe in a year's time we might have to look at something else," said Moyes.

"The first year I have to get a chance to see the players and how best to use them."
