Mowbray confident West Brom foreigners will recapture form

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray is confident the club's foreigners will soon rediscover their best form.

Gianni Zuiverloon, Ryan Donk, Jonas Olsson, Do-Heon Kim, Robert Koren are among those new to England's top flight.

"I think the foreign players are not used to the intensity of the Premier League," Mowbray told the Birmingham Mail.

"Early on you get adrenalin and during the first few games. Gianni Zuiverloon, for instance, was coping with the energy. He had been to the Olympics so he had an intense period and had little time off.

"It's a physical and a mental thing - there is a levelling off.

"You hope their talent comes back to the fore and they become accustomed to the demands of the Premier League week in, week out.

"I genuinely feel, and you can see it sometimes with those who have never played at this level before, that they go from being happy and smiley to looking tired and jaded.

'You need to get them to the other side where they understand the demands, what the League is about and why we work so hard, to make sure you're ready for the League.

"I think the signs are there with Gianni. His performances are becoming more consistent again following a dip.

''Olsson is another coming to terms with the physical demands of the League, he has stood up well to what he came up against and I hope we can push on in the second half of the season with these players."
