Jose Mourinho has reignited his feud with Cristiano Ronaldo by declaring the Manchester United star unworthy of the Ballon d'Or. The Inter Milan coach scored a double public relations own goal by criticising a fellow countryman and snubbing any Italian players for the award.

Portugal international Ronaldo helped United to win the Premier League and Champions League in May but Mourinho said: "I have no praise for Ronaldo.

"I would have preferred one of my own foreign players to have won the Ballon d'Or."
