Jose Mourinho insists his Manchester United side will continue doing everything in their power to push for a top-four position in the Premier League.
After advancing to the Europa League semi-finals with a 2-1 second leg win over Anderlecht on Thursday night, the Red Devils are one step closer to lifting the European trophy aloft, which will also grant them qualification to the Champions League for next season.
But with United sitting fifth in the English top flight, four points behind neighbours Manchester City and a game in hand, Mourinho is retaining hope of returning to Europe's elite through one of two ways.
"When it is not mathematically possible to qualify through the Premier League is when we put everything into the Europa League," he said.
"It is an important title and we have to keep going. Today showed how difficult it is. We are not expecting anything easy in the semi-finals."
United will be drawn against one of Olympique Lyon, Ajax or Celta Vigo in Friday morning's final four draw.
