The mother of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has publicly defended her son Mathias over his role in an alleged extortion attempt on his younger brother.

Mathias Pogba is currently in custody as local police carry out their investigations.

Pogba's mother, Yeo Moriba, is releasing her autobiography and has added an extra chapter to cover the scandal.

In the book, "And in the end, we win", Moriba writes according to RMC Sport: “I was told to add it, at first I didn't want to, it was difficult, and then the book was already done. But this episode happened... It's very difficult to talk about it."

According to Moriba, Mathias fell into "a trap, he was manipulated, held up by people who were close to us. We felt betrayed. (…) They are big, big sharks."
