Everton majority shareholder Farsad Moshiri wants to bring PSG striker Edinson Cavani to England.
Moshiri recognises Everton need a big name centre-forward signing to fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku's departure to Manchester United last summer.
The Times says the player topping his shopping list is Cavani, who faces being squeezed out at PSG after clashing with €222m signing Neymar.
The prospect of signing the Uruguay international is seen as a key motivation in Moshiri's pursuit of Watford boss Marco Silva. The belief is Silva's growing profile across Europe will help attract players of the calibre of Cavani to Goodison Park.
A January deal could be on for Cavani, with PSG needing to make major sales to comply to UEFA's financial fair play laws.
