Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has made a public show of support for his players after their Champions League exit.
The team that won the Treble last season, plus the Italian Super Cup and Club World Cup, crashed out of the Champions League 7-3 on aggregate to Schalke 04 on Wednesday night.
"Today I want to thank my team and all the players who in recent years, including this one, have brought Inter fans like me so much joy and success to be proud of," wrote Moratti on the official club website.
"Certain we will rediscover the strength and quality we know to reach prestigious objectives that await us this year, I am convinced that along with the fans, the Coach and the squad we will together be able to celebrate again."
