Alvaro Morata admits he wanted to leave Chelsea after missing World Cup selection with Spain.
The Blues ace, 25, claims not being named in the Spanish squad hit him hard, calling his debut season at Stamford Bridge a "total disaster".
The Spaniard, who has just been recalled to the national team, said: “[Missing the World Cup] was a difficult time for me, but it doesn't help anyone to think about the past.
"I'm going to do all I can to go to the next one. It was a difficult moment because I thought I was going to go.
“Clearly I thought about going back to play in Spain, or in Italy. Missing out on the World Cup made me consider it.
"I went [to Chelsea] to get to the World Cup, and I didn't go.
“The last year wasn't a happy one, it was a total disaster. I went on the pitch and I didn't even know where I was."
