Montreal Impact have sent Santiago Gonzalez on-loan to Uruguay's Danubio.

The 22-year-old striker has made nine league appearances, all off the bench, this season.

"It's taken him some time to adjust here. He's still a quality player, but our league is a little bit different. More physical, more pacy," Impact head coach Frank Klopas said.

"He's a young guy, and maybe he needs games."
