Montpellier manager Rolland Courbis admits Remy Cabella is set to sign for Newcastle United. The Evening Chronicle says the deal is worth 16m-plus future bonus payments, the biggest transfer the club has made since Michael Owen was brought for £16m back in the 2005/06 season.
Courbis has revealed that the deal is now all-but completed after several days of negotiations.
He said: "It is 90% there, not yet 100%. It is not yet complete, but certainly on the way to getting there. Talks are ongoing, especially regarding bonus payments.
"I am not worried about it. Laurent and Louis (Nicollin, the club owners) were right to reject their initial, vexing offer which was ridiculous."
