Montolivo: Sacking Seedorf good for AC Milan

AC Milan skipper Riccardo Montolivo says the sacking of Clarence Seedorf was the best decision for the club.

Milan kickoff preseason training under new coach Pippo Inzaghi.

"Seedorf? There wasn't much harmony, the decision to sack him is for the good of Milan," said Montolivo.

"I'm feeling better [from injury], we want to be competitive again and have a great season. He [Inzaghi] can't wait to get started, I felt that even today. He has the right energy to revive Milan and also has the right ideas.

"It's his first experience but we are all with him, there are all the ingredients for him to do well.

"The player who can be the biggest surprise is El Shaarawy, I'm expecting a lot from him.

"At Milan there are a lot of good midfielders. The club are looking to give Inzaghi a great squad."
