AS Monaco wing-back Fabinho has again spoken of a failed summer move to Manchester United.

The former Real Madrid Castilla defender was wanted by United in August, but Monaco refused to do business.

"Signing for a big club, perhaps for next summer? This could already have been done, but I'm under contract here (he extended in September until 2021)," said Fabinho.

"Here, I'm fine, I'm an important player in one of the best teams in the Championship."

He added: "On the field, I prefer the middle, because you get most touches on the ball, you have more chances, but I think in the future I will be on the flank."
