Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is firming as a favourite transfer option for Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

The Telegraph says Tuchel is interested in West Ham captain Declan Rice.

However, should they fail to negotiate a deal with West Ham it is believed Chelsea will instead go after Monaco's Tchouameni.

Tchouameni has made 39 appearances for Monaco since joining from French rivals Bordeaux in January of last year, helping them achieve a third-place finish in Ligue 1 this season.

And the 21-year-old's performances have been impressive enough to catch Chelsea's eye, with the club identifying him as a cheaper alternative to top target Rice.
