Liverpool hero Jan Molby has questioned the Reds future of Martin Skrtel.
Liverpool reportedly spent nearly £30m on Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori on deadline day, leading to speculation that Liverpool could be preparing for the departure of one of their existing defenders.
Molby wrote in the Liverpool Echo: "When you kick off the season with three successive clean sheets, it's a little bit surprising to see two centre-backs added to the squad on transfer deadline day.
"Given the size of his transfer fee Sakho has clearly been bought with the first team in mind.
"Not many clubs spend £15m on a substitute defender.
"Quite where that leaves Skrtel we'll have to wait and see."
