MLS looking to bring in ex-Barcelona ace Eto’o

Major League Soccer have tabled a big-money bid for Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto’o according to reports.

It is believed that the North American competition are prepared to pay $25.8million (€20m) to the Russian club to bring Eto’o to the league and then place him with either LA Galaxy or New York Red Bulls.

Anzhi have not yet responded to MLS’ formal statement of interest for the Cameroon international but it is proposed that the league are keen to sign the former Barcelona and Inter Milan star as they prepare for the potential departure of David Beckham who could leave the Galaxy to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
