​MLS discusses joining Copa Libertadores

The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) is in talks with Major League Soccer (MLS) and Mexico's Liga MX regarding entry to the Copa Libertadores – the premier continental club competition of South America, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

According to ESPN and Globo, discussions are at an early stage.

However, should the negotiations prove constructive, the competition could feature sides from the US and Canada for the first time in the tournament's history from as early as 2020.
