MLS champions LA Galaxy to forego offseason tour

Back-to-back MLS champions LA Galaxy will not head off for and end-of-season tour this year.

The Galaxy, who clinched the MLS Cup courtesy of a 3-1 win over Houston Dynamo on the weekend, usually travel abroad once the North American domestic season ends to spread the brand around the world but 2012 will be different.

Galaxy vice-president Chris Klein said that after a hectic schedule this year, the players and staff will be remaining in Los Angeles and basically doing their own thing.

"After careful consideration of multiple opportunities, we have decided to forgo any potential postseason tours," said Klein in a statement.

"Our players and coaches have gone above and beyond for our club and we feel that capturing our second straight MLS Cup title is a fitting end to an historic year."
