Major League Soccer has announced that it will be cutting employee salaries due to the COVD-19 outbreak.
There is no sport taking place in most parts of the world, which means that leagues are not able to generate money.
While MLS hopes to open back up in the coming weeks, they are lowering employee salaries in New York City.
The company has roughly 300 employees in the city per Yahoo Sports, and they will all see a salary cut.
New hires are frozen, while other cost cutting measures will also likely go into effect.
The commissioner Don Garber and his top deputies will lose 25 percent of their salaries, while other full time staff members will see cuts of 10 to 20 percent.
MLS players will likely receive all their salaries.
