MK Dons captain Dean Lewington is delighted seeing former teammate Dele Alli in the England squad.

Alli is barely a month into his Tottenham career and already in the senior England squad.

"In is first game for us, he scored a 25-yard shot from the edge of the box and he had that smile on his face as if to say, well what else did you expect me to do with it?" said Lewington, who has been at the club since 2004.

"Against Notts County he scored a hat-trick from centre-midfield and he was head and shoulders above everybody else and that was when everybody started to realise he was something special.

"He is a fantastic technical player but his physical capacity is the best that I have seen and his ability to get around the pitch is amazing."
