Mitrovic scores fine header in tight Fulham victory over Ipswich

Aleksander Mitrovic scored a fine header to help Fulham claim a 1-0 win over Ipswich Town.

A superb cross from signing Kenny Tete met the head of Mitrovic, who skilfully steered the ball past David Cornell.

Cottagers boss Scott Parker made nine changes to the side that lost to Arsenal last Saturday.

Parker also handed debuts to Alphonse Areola, Tete, Antonee Robinson and Southampton loanee Mario Lemina.

Speaking after the game, Parker said: "For him to get valuable minutes, score a goal, work hard for the team is vitally important for us, he's going to be a vitally important cog for us.

"When the ball comes in at that quality I was standing there thinking 'if that's on his head it's going in'. That's exactly where he finishes."
