Milner intent on bringing success from Man City to Liverpool

James Milner says he is intent on restoring Liverpool's glory days.

Milner joined Liverpool on a free transfer from Manchester City this summer and his signing has been universally hailed as a shrewd piece of business for the Reds.

Many were a bit surprised at the fact that Milner elected to swap City for Liverpool and the midfielder has now gone on to reveal that of the main factors which lured him to Merseyside was his desire to help bring success to Anfield as he did at the Etihad.

The 29-year old said: "When I signed for City, the attraction of going there was that they had not won anything for a long, long time.

"I wanted to be a part of that and it's a similar situation here. Liverpool have won so much over its great history but maybe over recent years they haven't quite won what they'd like to. I see that opportunity again here to go and win.

"I saw the passion here when City were competing with them for the title two seasons ago. If you could win the title and other trophies here, it would be a fantastic place to do it."
