Liverpool veteran James Milner feels they're ready to make the final step in Europe.

Milner knows that final step, after those three finals under Jurgen Klopp where Liverpool ultimately endured heartbreak, is the toughest to take.

But he believes the experience has been a huge help this season: “We've been to finals - those failures, if you like – but getting to three finals has helped a lot, and given us a lot of experience. Not getting over the line obviously, but that experience we have gained will help. The first one is the hardest.

“You can see it (has helped) this year too, the way we have been able to grind out wins even when we have not been at our best. And you have to know you can't go a full season playing your best football — when you are not at your best you still need to win."
