Gareth Southgate insists Middlesbrough are not the dirtiest side in the Premier League - despite 71 bookings this season and also topping the fouls count with 423.
Boro boss Southgate said: "I don't think we're a dirty team. We'll get a huge fine at the end of the season as we'll be well out at the top for bookings but it doesn't reflect the way we've played the game.
"When I watched Manchester United play Bolton I saw things where the referee had a word - but if it was one of our players he'd have been booked.
"When you look at the gulf between our number of bookings and the other teams something can't be right."
