Middlesbrough keeper Victor Valdes risks retro ban

Middlesbrough goalkeeper Victor Valdes risks a retrospective ban after clashing with Dele Alli during defeat to Tottenham.

He was furious with the Tottenham star and after arguing, Valdes took things one step further with a couple of slaps.

After Valdes had raised his hands, Alli, 20, remained calm and did not respond to Valdes' violence and waited for referee Mark Clattenburg to diffuse the situation.

The Sun says it's unclear what instigated the incident and Clattenburg did not see the clash, resulting in the Spaniard getting away with it.

Howard Webb, whilst working for BT Sport, has said the FA may review the incident which could lead to retrospective punishment.

Boro could be without their No 1 for three games as a ban looms for the 35-year-old.
