Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is confident Afonso Alves is set for a long scoring run.

He said: "He has shown the finishing that we all know he is capable of, and hopefully it will give him a big lift.

"It's certain to have given him a confidence boost because strikers thrive on goals. We hope that he will continue to score but it's up to the rest of the team to create the openings."
