Middlesbrough boss Carrick seek to sign Leeds defender Cresswell

Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick is looking to sign Leeds defender Charlie Cresswell.

The Sun says Boro would look to 'break' the defender's loan at Millwall to complete a permanent transfer - should Jesse Marsch's side allow it.

It is thought that a fee of £4million 'plus extras' would be enough to get a deal over the line for the 20-year-old.

Cresswell has featured 16 times in the Championship this season, showing his threat from set-pieces having scored four times for the Lions.
