Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate insists he won't panic buy to replace Everton-bound striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

He said: "I'm not bothered. You always want to improve the squad if you possibly can, but we have got a week left to do it.

"We have got to be realistic - will we find that person in that particular position in that space of time?

"It's highly unlikely, but it does not get me down."
