Middlesbrough and Bolton are battling for Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Julian De Guzman.

The midfielder - who has 33 Canada caps - was voted the club's top player last season, but wants to end his three year stint in Spain after being subjected to racist abuse.

He is out of contract next year.

Boro boss Gareth Southgate and Wanderers chief Gary Megson would have to pay about £2million, says the Mirror.
