Meyler excited ahead of Hull's Euro debut

David Meyler is excited about Hull City's Europa League opener tonight against Trencin.

The Tigers begin their first-ever European campaign with a clash away to Trencin tonight knowing that success in the much-maligned competition could add 10 games to an already hectic domestic programme.

Meyler said: "We can't wait to get going. Some people regard the Europa League as a pain, but we don't see it as a complication at all and I'm sure it won't affect our Premier League form.

"I know the Thursday and Sunday playing schedules are difficult, but I believe that we can handle it and that we won't suffer.

"And you won't hear any of our lads complaining because, if we are playing constant football it means we are having a successful season.

"The way we look at it, this competition is a great opportunity to play against new teams. I know the Premier League is our bread and butter, but I feel as though we can use the Europa League to our advantage."
