Mexico's Queretaro move to trump Man Utd for Victor Valdes

Mexico could be the next destination for Manchester United trialist Victor Valdes.

The Daily Mail says Mexican side Queretaro are keen to sign Valdes but the goalkeeper seems intent on earning a deal at Manchester United.

The 32-year-old has stepped up his training in the past week and is looking more like his old self following cruciate ligament surgery.

United staff believe he is about a week away from being ready for a game and the club may look to arrange a behind closed doors friendly to test out his sharpness over the coming days.

Juventus have also shown an interest in his recovery and it is clear the alternative options are there should United not make him a suitable offer.
