Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen believes his squad is too good to go down as he prepares to face second-from-bottom West Ham on New Year's Day and then rock-bottom Sunderland. The former Manchester United first team coach told the Daily Express: "This squad is too good to go down. There is enough quality and expertise. We have got plenty of experienced people here who know how to get out of this situation.
"The next two games, against West Ham and Sunderland, are going to be vital.
"The thing about the result against Hull was that you have to put it in perspective.
"It was a freak result, not a trend. I have learned over the years not to get too carried away with the highs, or the lows.
"At United alongside Sir Alex Ferguson I saw us lose 6-1, and there is nothing you can do about it.
"You just have to say it's happened, so you park it, and move on. It's the only way."
