Arsenal hero Paul Merson says Liverpool can build their midfield around Curtis Jones.
Jones has shone since returning from long-term injury.
But Merson said: "I quite like Curtis Jones, but he's not a name, is he? He's not a £60-70m player.
"I like him. I think he does a good job and he doesn't let you down. But he's not a superstar, so people then pick him out. He's a good player."
Merson added: "If he doesn't get on at Liverpool then I don't think he's doing any harm for himself to get a good move to someone in the summer like Aston Villa or somewhere like that.
"He never lets you down. He can play, gets forward and defends as well.
"But as you said, he will divide opinion because he's not an £80m player. He came through the ranks. Will he play every week next season? I wouldn't think so."
