Manchester City are focused on signing a right-back this summer.
The Sky Blues are convinced they do not need more cover for injury prone left-back Benjamin Mendy.
They will now prioritise signing somebody on the opposite side of the pitch, according to the Evening Standard.
Mendy has suffered knee ligament damage, as well as metatarsal and meniscus injuries, since arriving from Monaco two seasons ago.
City have identified Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo as their first-choice to replace the outgoing Danilo.
