LA Galaxy youth star Raul Mendiola is back at the club after a couple of training stints abroad.
The midfielder spent time with Spanish club Sevilla and English powerhouse Manchester United but is now back in Los Angeles and even managed 10 minutes of a reserve team match against Chivas USA which thrilled academy director Chris Klein.
"He's back and we're happy to have him back we'll see what he can do.
"Supposedly he did well [in Europe], but if you talk to him, he wants to be here. This is a player that we've known for some time and have liked.""He's someone that is extremely dynamic and is a very good soccer player," Klein said.
As for a senior contract for Mendiola, Klein indicates that it is a possibility but made it clear that the decision will be made regarding how well the player performs.
"We can bring them so far, ultimately, it comes down to a decision from [head coach] Bruce [Arena].""A lot of time, the timeline is up to them and how [the player] does when he gets the opportunity," he added.
