Melbourne Victory will be without key midfielder Grant Brebner for Saturday night's clash with Newcastle Jets.

The Scotsman had x-rays on his foot this morning which showed two broken toes meaning he is unavailable for the EnergyAustralia Stadium match.

Brebner has been in top form in the past few matches indicating that his absence may be a blow to the Victory but they are likely to regain the services of striker Robbie Kruse who is every chance of coming back from a calf injury.
