Melbourne Victory injury shocker

Melbourne Victory's million-dollar man Harry Kewell has been released from the Australia squad due to injury.

Football Australia announced in the early hours of this morning that Kewell is flying back to Melbourne for treatment on a "muscle strain":

"Upon arrival in Bangkok today, Qantas Socceroos team medical staff re-assessed a muscle strain that Harry Kewell had sustained in the match against Oman and determined that he would not be available to play in Tuesday's match against Thailand.

"Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck, in agreement with the medical staff, then gave Harry Kewell the opportunity to return to Australia, at the earliest convenience, to receive individual treatment at his club, Melbourne Victory.

"Harry Kewell accepted the offer and returned to Australia immediately."
