McTominay floating after 2-goal super-sub blast sees Man Utd stun Brentford

Scott McTominay was floating after his stunning super-sub performance for Manchester United's 2-1 win against Brentford.

McTominay jumped from the bench to score twice in injury-time to rescue the points.

He said: "That might be one of my favourite moments on a football pitch. Two goals at the death was icnredible, but I am just happy to be able to contribute and show people that I can do it."

"It's massive. Everyone knows we are in a difficult period at the minute, but we have fighters in the group that want to keep going right until the end. It could have been anyone on that pitch scoring the two goals. Really pleased and hopefully we can build on that from here.

"Sometimes we feel like we are in our own bubble with people outside only saying negative things, but we just have to block that out and be better after the international break."

On the instructions when he came on, he added: "It was very loud, the fans were roaring us on so I couldn't hear fully. He probably said something like: 'Go on and score,' which is what I did."

"When the ball dropped to me it was at an awwkard height and I didn't think I could get my leg there, control it and score.

"As I said we wanted to get into their box more as the game went on. But they are a really good team, defended well, and are dangerous on the counter attack. Eventually we got the goals."

On the second goal, he concluded: "No nerves. Just never give up no matter the situation. At this football club it is demanded that you never throw the towel in, for me I have been brought up here since I was five, I know that better than anyone."
