With only a few days to go before the January transfer window opens, Birmingham boss Alex McLeish will be meeting with the board after tonight's game at Manchester United to agree on a way forward for strengthening the squad. He said: "We have a number of targets, and we will be discussing those this week.
"We've got business in terms of the game, and after that, perhaps we can get a chance to talk - sit down with the board, my chief scout and my coaching staff and see where we go.
"The board and I are working hard to try and enhance the squad, and we will try and do that, whatever way we feel is the best way to give the squad a little bit more quality."
Ideally, McLeish would prefer not to be shopping in the frenzied winter transfer window.
"I'd like to try and do something as quickly as possible," he said.
"My past experiences of dealing in January are not great - Lastminute.com and maybe not getting quite what you were looking for in the first place.
