Billy McKinlay has taken aim at Watford following his dismissal.
Despite leading the team to a win and a draw, the Pozzo family, who own the club, decided he lacked experienced and hired former Chelsea midfielder Slavisa Jokanovic instead.
McKinlay turned down the chance to remain on Jokanovic's coaching staff.
"I was disappointed," said the former Blackburn midfielder. "I was surprised to be appointed but for it to only last as short as it did was a surprise to say the least."
